PT Berdikari Meubel Nusantara (PT BMN) organized a blood donation drive as a demonstration of its social responsibility and commitment to supporting public health. The initiative involved employees, their families and relatives, as well as members of the surrounding community, encouraging broader participation in this humanitarian effort.
Blood availability remains a challenge for Indonesia’s healthcare system. According to data from Indonesia’s Ministry of Health, the country’s ideal annual blood requirement is approximately 5.6 million units, while blood availability in 2025 reached only 4.4 million units. This leaves a shortfall of approximately 1.2 million units against the estimated annual requirement.
East Java faces a similar challenge. According to a report published by IDN Times East Java on October 1, 2026, the province requires approximately 908,000 units of blood annually. In Surabaya alone, daily demand is estimated at 400–500 units. These figures underscore the importance of sustained voluntary blood donation and broader access to blood donation initiatives across different regions.

Blood donation helps ensure the availability of blood components needed for various medical procedures and can save lives. For donors, the process also provides an opportunity to undergo preliminary health checks, including blood pressure and hemoglobin level assessments, along with other examinations conducted in accordance with blood donation service protocols. Donor eligibility is determined by healthcare professionals based on the results of these assessments.
Through this initiative, PT Berdikari Meubel Nusantara aims to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation while fostering a stronger spirit of solidarity among the company, employees’ families, and the surrounding community.
For PT BMN, social responsibility means taking tangible action to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Even a simple act can offer hope and help save a life.
